Gmail updates for speed; not quite there

Official Gmail Blog: A need for speed: the path to a faster loading sequence

I've been noticing that Gmail has been loading slower now that it shows a status bar while loading. The status bar seems to fill up multiple times before my inbox loads and now takes up to about a minute to load my inbox.

Anyone else experiencing this after the load time update?

Hi, I found the new version of the gmail is kind of slow compare to the old version. Maybe it is due to the bandwidth? I hv not problem in loading other webpage, but gmail or google related site.

Sending gmail is so slow I'm considering not using it anymore. The page hangs for awhile after I press send, and recipients tell me it takes up to an hour to receive my email. I'd hate to have to go back to OUTLOOK. Is there any hope for this to get better soon?

@anonymous (18 June) It seems to be working great for me. I would strongly suggest you send a support request to them about it. I posted this blog entry and shortly after it started working much better with Firefox 2 (and now Firefox 3 also).
